Welcome to the next version of the-spot.net: tsn.7

There are a few things you should note before getting started - like, the fact that I put this up within 3 hours, and can only test the logins that I have...which worked.

• When you try to log in, use your same username and password that you used on tsnX
• There is no Photobook, Calendar, or My Spot page right now.
• There are 2 themes available, and neither of them are like the old tsnX themes - the site right now is simply a forum, but this time, EVERYTHING works (as in features and stuff)

Now, if you find something that doesn't work properly, let me know - post a message on the site, and if you can't post it on the site, then send me an IM or something. It's now after 5am...so I'm going to bed for a while. Let me know what you think.

I decided to change my theme over from the classic overview to Prosilver, and Prosilver is actually very nice, moreso than what I was looking at. The layout is still something I'd have to get used to, but I'm getting used to it.

Hambone, I wouldn't worry, I was told about this at the last second. But hey, I'm in favor of it considering the situation.

But considering the fact that the server n00bs had installed a deal for their Apache Webserver called "mod_security", it was causing errors while people tried to post. I thought it was something to do with the old site, but while trying to get this one installed, I had to talk to them and they disabled it for our site.

But since there was a lot of stuff that didn't work, like admin abilities, moderator abilities, and general hacked-up funcationality, as well as spambots continually joining the site....I decided to go ahead and upgrade since the phpbb guys released 3.0.0 finally.


Don't worry about the layout - find a theme that you like from the two available, and try to cope with it...it's only a forum index right now, because this has only been up for 12 hours - if that.

I still have to come up with a design for the new site, and the code to create the My Spot page...then figure out how to edit the themes - because the code for the pages, and the structure of the database is completely different.

Im still lookin around, I'll vote later.

I don't think I'll have an issue with it once I get used to it.

One good thing about this new site is that you can change your vote.

WOW...I really like this..it has a lot of the features the site USED to have, like the new posts and your posts at the top of the page...and the unanswered and active topics...etc...

I LOVE PROSILVER!!!

I'm still looking around, but i'm likin' it. It's easy you to use. I haven't changed the theme yet, but the one i'm using seems ok.

Since I haven't been on the spot much lately, it wont be hard to get used to.

It was mine too - but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get one for this version of the forums - since it's different code and a different database structure, the old one won't work with it (which is why I always have to remake the My Spot page every time I update the site)

im not sure i lilke it or not....i dunno...seeing as it all happend without me knowing and when i went to the old page i was like WTF!?!? lol

At least there is a link on the old site - there wasn't a link in previous switches...people just had to figure it out, or go directly to http://www.the-spot.net

It also needs the View New Posts option to be located at the bottom of the page. I got used to just moving my mouse down a bit when I was done posting/reading.

Yeah, I keep going down to the My Spot link that is not there, trying to get back to the View New Post feature essentially...I have to use Auto Scroll and zoom back up to the top of the page.

Don't worry - that part will be fixed with the tsn.7 theme.
