Well I was gonna change my sig but I couldn't put in a quote..i noticed bbcode was off..so I went into profile settings under posting and it was on...I went back to sig and then it showed html off and bbcode off...html was on before and I still have them both with yes selected...Am I missing the setting somewhere else? Wierd that html was on before and all I did was view my settings and it went to off now...

I can still use them here

it's off to prevent people from using pictures and stuff in their sig. It used to be an issue...but it doesn't appear to be one anymore.

Assuming you're not going to do either of those things, I'll turn bbcode back on.

EDIT: Actually, it says that it's both on and off for bbcodes...try it and see what happens. What I said above is apparently not accurate. There are some restrictions to what you can do in signatures...but just try what you wanted to do, and see if it works. If it doesn't let me know what it is you're trying to do, and I'll see if there are settings there preventing it, and if I can fix that.

still won't work

Well I tried putting quotes in my sig again and still no luck.

Also it still shows html and bbcode being off in my edit sig screen. But they are turned on in my reading/posting options.

I tried quoting with and without the quoter's name...i.e.

Code: Select all

[quote="me"]blah blah[/quote]
and

Code: Select all

[quote]blah blah[/quote]
but both give an error when clicking preview and even if I just hit submit

any thoughts?

my thoughts are, don't use bbcode to make a quote, just quote them like normal...until I can figure out how to make the bbcode function run in the profile page (even though it's already included in the code) to edit out the "error" that you're seeing...which is not an error, it's the bb-code-id so that the program knows what format that particular instance of bbcode requires.
