On Animekingdom.net they have Grand Master Okatu...which is something like a high class person in Japan - I dunno I'm not the person to ask about Japanese culture.

But because I don't know, I decided to take the simple feature and Americanize it a bit, to mean "Grand Master Okra." Just a funny little quirk for reaching 1000 posts and letting everyone know what order it happened in.

hm. well otaku is a word meaning "my house" originally. girls refer to themselves as otaku. anyway, it somehow got twisted around by means of pop culture to mean an extreme fan of anything. in america, we adopted the word to mean anime fan.
baka could probably give a better explanation of it...
