Lol Mr. I-followed-your-races-on-FB. It was more than 39.5, that was only the miles I ran with the tail, wings, and horns (I was a mini-dragon). The total distance of all of the races was 48.6 miles. I just wore other costumes...
Pam wrote:Have you ever done a tough mudder?? My hubby is doing one next month in Oklahoma. I don't run. AT all. Lol. So we are going to be staying at a Casino Resort and I plan on having a spa day while he is running. LOL. It would be awesome if some other friends could go run with him and make a fun weekend of it.
I haven't. I considered it but the ones up here have the electrical field obstacles and I... don't handle pain well, especially electrical shocks. Plus, they have, in the past, caused heart issues and given that my family, specifically my father, has heart issues, I didn't want to risk it. I hear good things outside of that though so I'm sure he'll have a blast. As will you. Yay spa days!
If we're ever in the same place, I'd be happy to run with anyone. I have to run solo since most people I know who run are located elsewhere.

I thought it was 39.5 mikes at once, that is why I was shocked. I didn't think that was possible at once

It's back to back days: 5k, 10k, half marathon, and then a full marathon. Really though you could do it all in one day once you're in the rhythm.

I sometimes run.....like when I have to pee really badly. Aside from that....I hate running. Once we move into our new house though, we have a lake pretty much right next door and I plan on taking our dog running every day after work. Maybe my feelings towards it will change......probably not.

I thought I would hate running, but I made myself do it to train for a 5k back in February (the Cowtown), which got iced out...and put me out $70 for my wife and I.
I was surprised to find that I started to want to do it if I skipped a day.
There must have been something wrong with me.

I hate running. I do it got the medals, basically. Though the mental aspect of training has really helped. I prefer strength training usually...

They didn't refund the money??? Or reschedule it or something??
I want to run so bad. I wish I could, but I have really bad knees, and something weird that happens in my shins/calfs. It looks soooo freeing. Just turn up some music, ignore everything around you, and just run. Sometimes it looks like they could just fly. I wish I could run with my eyes closed to. Every time I step on a treadmill and have my music on, it makes me want to close my eyes. I'm not sure why, since I know it would actually make me dizzy and fall, but I just want to do it!

Nope, no refunds. I couldn't run until I lost some weight. I had similar issues, when I did anything but walk - I just hit the ground with all that extra force.

Yeah...I do have all that extra "force" as you say. LOL. I think that's what I'm going to call it now. I'm not fat. I just have extra force. And you want the force to be with you, right??? So this is a good thing. Really! LOL. Thanks for the inspiration, Neo!

hahahah, well, it wasn't a good thing for me. I lost 50 lbs, but haven't lost anything else since September...but I haven't gained anything else either. I just need to get out there and run some more - that burned more calories than my workouts did for the same time/effort.

Well...it's not a good thing for me either...and I'm hoping to change it. But...right now...I'm craving a late night run to IHOP, so it's going to be a struggle. I just wish I had more night owl friends lived closer so I could actually go do stuff! (and a hubby that wasn't always away camping and gone for 2 days!)

How the heck do you push yourself to run so much then? That's something I need to learn. Everyone tells me that if I start running, I'll start loving it, but that's never happened. Even when I played soccer and had to run several miles for practices and stuff, I hated running unless I was actually playing soccer. Running just for the sake of running is so hard on my body and mind.

Eh, I can run, most of the time I choose not to, as I just prefer walking long distances, besides, it's hard trying to glyph hack and move at the same time =P

I wish I had good insight to that. I am notorious for undertraining for my races. What I find motivates me is having races paid for and on the calendar. I don't want to waste the registration and the high of getting a medal at the end motivates me to sign up for another one. Motivation for running frequently to train is harder though. It's usually the fear of injury that makes me do it but even still I procrastinate.
Running also makes me emotional. I hate it. I cry like crazy when I run. So if I run in a bad mood, it just makes it so much worse. I had a breakdown on the side of a major road because I was sad when I was running and my emotions went haywire. If I'm happy it goes better. I also found my running longer than about 30 minutes made it so my health issues were affected negatively and thus triggered more emotions issues.
How far/long are you usually running when you try and hate it?

My hubby often runs and plays Ingress. I don't know how he does it, but there were several weeks he was doing it every morning.
On a side note...my tablet onscreen keyboard does not like working well with tan.
I can't seem to get it to stay on long to make a post. This has been a hassle.
