That's different advice than what our realtor gave us. From her, she said we don't want to overbid what we think the appraisal would be by more than what we're willing to pay in cash to cover the difference. Maybe she wasn't interested in trying to counter-offer, since investors would not counter and would pay cash to get whatever they can.DMoney wrote:Congrats! We just found out today that we're closing on the 30th.We got a really nice deal when the appraisal came back for $15k less than what the seller was asking for. When we got that and counter-offered the appraisal amount, the seller accepted without trying to get anything else on top of it (we were ready to pay a little bit higher depending on what they decided to counter with). WOOHOO!!!
