Re: Tech toys!

I'm hoping I can get my hands on some upgrades at Quakecon though =D I'm jealous about Quakecon. It's been way too long since I've been to one. I know that it costs money now to BYOC and set it up, but are there things one can do for free? If it runs over the weekend, and depending on when it is, I...

Happy Birthday, Vimmington!

Happy Birthday to the pimp master tallywacker of tsn, Dr. Vim Vimmington of Vimstown! On tsn, you're listed as having a birthday today (7/6)...but on facebook your birthday was last month (6/7). Somewhere there is a number that is transposed.

Re: tsn8 - A Work In Progress

No solid idea yet on timeframe, since I'm still working out the features and use-cases. It's basically going to involve using phpBB as the data source, and writing templates that act as an API layer to get the data I want into the format I need to display these new features. And then of course there...

Re: tsnLAN 2015 - June 27th, 2015

Well, the only outlier was supposed to be Pam arriving at 2...the fact that you got there at 1:30, and that Punix overslept were unexpected, since normally everyone was early to the Tyler lan parties.

Re: tsn8 - A Work In Progress

I have finally come up with a forum concept that merges the intent of this site and the current state of social networking sites into something that I think will be much easier to work with for end users. I am still fleshing out the details, and there will have to be some incremental changes and it ...

Re: Fatherly traits and qualities

Because the post got really long, this is a secondary post to point out some things about the previous. Primarily, the use of chores around the house as punishment. There was no physical punishment. Not every family needs to use chores as a punishment. GlennCoco grew up with chores as part of her da...

Re: Fatherly traits and qualities

I meant to reply to this when you reposted it, and forgot about it until coming to this forum to start another thread... One of the things I appreciated about my father was that he did things that made my mother upset - and then my mother conveyed those behaviors to me as a child. Things like refere...

Re: Your Life's Path (re-visited)

In High School, I was fairly smart at #4 in my class, and taught myself how to program calculators, learned as much math and science as I could, and realized I could teach myself anything I wanted to know. I took this with me to college where I spent my weekends studying and building websites. I eve...

Your Life's Path (re-visited)

On the other side of the Looking Glass, there is a thread of similar name , that was sparked as a random post by tank driver will in some other thread. The idea was to describe how you go to where you are today - what choices set your life on its particular path, and what pivotal moments in your his...

Re: tsnLAN 2015 - June 27th, 2015

The tsnLAN 2015 was great fun, and I hope to host another around Christmas time when my brother in town. I don't have any firm dates on that time window but I'll try to get some kind of estimate, and do a little more planning and give a little more warning for people to make proper arrangements. I h...

I need a reminder to remind me to come post on this thread when I have more time! Come back and post here. Now it'll show up in your notifications. I also find myself wishing I could mark something as Unread, or Snoozed like in Google Inbox. That is one of the big features I want to put into the si...

Ok. I Also have Unreal installed via Steam, and from your original copy...so we should be covered with 3 versions to try if one doesn't work.

Re: tsnLAN 2015 - June 27th, 2015

Seeing how this is now less of a LAN and more of a boardgame/card game get together, there really isn't any need for the "electricity contributions" part of the details in the first post. There will be some chips, salsa, veggie tray w/ dips, and my wife's "hurricane dip" (chili a...
